Химикаты в предметах ежедневного обихода

3 декабря 2006 года в Брюсселе Европейский парламент принял закон REACH (Registration, Evaluation and Authorization of Chemicals), 18 декабря REACH, заменяющий более 40 законов ЕС, был подписан президентом Европейского Союза и президентом Европарламента, а 1 июня 2007 года закон вступил в силу. Цель новой директивы обеспечить доступность экологических данных относительно 30 тысяч химических продуктов (материалов, химических реактивов и пр.), использующихся при производстве изделий электроники. В отличие от RoHS, директива REACH касается продуктов и процессов фактически в каждой отрасли промышленности от горной до текстильной. Подобно RoHS, директива REACH распространяется на любые изделия на рынке ЕС. На каждый продукт должно быть заведено досье, в котором перечислены содержащиеся в нем химические компоненты. Кроме того, в досье указываются используемые в производстве химикаты и оценка их токсичности. Вся информация о химических продуктах, подпадающих под действие директивы REACH, будет введена в общедоступную базу данных новой структуры Европейского агентства по химическим продуктам, ECA (European Chemicals Agency) в Хельсинки. Каждое досье будет оценено, и, если вещество представляет угрозу здоровью человека или окружающей среде, в отношении данного продукта будут установлены строгие ограничения, вплоть до запрета. Safer chemicals within REACH

More information: ec.europa.eu. New EU rules for the chemical industry -- the REACH package -- are set to improve our health and protect the environment. Obliging companies to register and provide information on the chemicals they use should enable public authorities to identify their properties more quickly and accurately. Particularly severe on toxic products, the new rules will encourage the European chemicals industry to develop new substances that are less harmful for people and the environment. As a result, the sector itself should also gain a lead in innovative and sustainable technologies.
