Reading Russian 2.15 - отпраздновать, напиваться, праздник

Holidays and celebrations are fun times and people celebrate in lots of different ways. One way or the other it is necessary to be able to communicate in order to enjoy the holidays to the fullest extent and it is with this purpose in mind that we begin this lesson starting off with sentence number one: Мы отпразднуем завтра. (We will celebrate tomorrow.) The word of interest here is отпразднуем which is a form of отпраздновать and отпраздновать means to celebrate. It is also possible to say: Мы отметим этот праздник завтра. (We will celebrate tomorrow.) Continuing on with the celebration we have sample sentence two: Они напиваются, когда празднуют. (They get drunk when they celebrate.) The word of interest here is is a form of напиваться and напиваться means to get drunk. Another way to phrase this idea is to say: Они напиваются отмечая праздник. Not everyone celebrates by getting drunk and rowdy as we see in sentence three: Им нравятся спокойные праздники. (They enjoy quiet holidays.) The focus word here is a form of праздник and праздник means holiday or festival. A slightly longer way to communicate this same idea is to say: Они ...
