Kolovrat was formed on the 1st August 1994 under the name "Russkoje getto" - Russian Ghetto and became one of the first RAC bands in Russia, releasing two demos - "Ready to Destroy" - 1994 and "Hail Russia!" - 1995. In 1997 Denis decided to change band's name to Kolovrat. Kolovrat is an ancient slavic pagan symbol for the Sun (Sun's Wheel). Kolovrat is, in fact, a double swastika with all eight ends pointed right. Denis Gerasimov was acquitted and released from prison in Prague 19th May 2005. A Kolovrat tribute called "Kolovrat above the Whole World - part 1" was released through Kolovrat NS Records in 2005. It features the following bands: Temnojar, Sokyra Peruna, Brigade M, Velimor, Salut, Orden14, Glos Prawdy, Temnozor, Uranni, Panzerjager, Lut', Protest.
