"Captain America" is a 1990 Action Adventure film directed by Albert Pyun. Starring Matt Salinger, Scott Paulin, Ronny Cox, Ned Beatty and Darren McGavin. Steve Rogers is injected with the Super Soldier formula, becoming Captain America as a last ditch effort to thwart a psychopathic Nazi agent known as the Red Skull from launching a Missile at the United States during the height of World War II. Trapping himself in the Arctic by deflecting the rocket, Rogers is freed 50 years later to find that not only is the world a much different place...but the Red Skull is still alive and still a menace.

Epic NEW trailer for Captain America. 06/23/11 Captain America: The First Avenger is an upcoming 2011 American superhero film based on the Marvel Comics character Captain America. The film is being directed by Joe Johnston, written by Christopher Markus and Stephen McFeely, and stars Chris Evans as Captain America. The film will be the fifth installment of the Marvel Cinematic Universe. via: movies.yahoo.com Captain America: The First Avenger first began as a concept in 1997 and was scheduled to be distributed by Artisan Entertainment. However, a lawsuit caused disruption to the project and it was settled in September 2003. After Marvel Studios received a grant from Merrill Lynch, the project was set up at Paramount Pictures. Directors Jon Favreau and Louis Leterrier were considered to direct the project before Johnston was approached in 2008. The principal characters were cast between March 2010 and June 2010. Production of Captain America: The First Avenger began in June 2010 and filming took place in London, Manchester and Liverpool in the United Kingdom, and Los Angeles in the United States. The film was converted to 3D in post-production. The film is scheduled for release on July 22, 2011.
