Singing PM: 'Fats' Putin over the top of 'Blueberry Hill' with piano solo

Full video of Vladimir Putin playing the piano and singing "Blueberry Hill". The Russian prime minister is used to taking to the stage, but this time it was not for one of his speeches. Vladimir Putin made his audience sit up and take note, as he sang at a charity fundraiser. The reception at an ice stadium in St. Petersburg was dedicated to fighting children's cancer. International celebrities including Kevin Costner, Gerard Depardieu, Mickey Rourke, Sharon Stone, Kurt Russell, Vincent Cassel, Monica Belucci, Ornella Muti, Goldie Hawn and many others attended the benefit concert. Many of the stars are actively involved in charity work which draws needed attention to children's oncological and ophthalmological diseases. When the hostess approached Putin's table and asked him to sing for the audience, his immediate reaction was "are you kidding me?" But the hostess was determined to get the prime minister on the mic and reminded him about the songs he sang with the Russian sleeper agents extradited from the US last summer. Putin attempted to evade the proposal by saying that the singing she was referring to had come from the heart. However, after seeing the pictures of ill children shown to the audience on the big screen, he took to the stage. "Like the majority of people I cannot -- but do like to sing and to play -- so you'll have to rough it," he warned as he sat at the piano and played the beginning of Blueberry Hill. В.Путин сыграл на фортепиано "С чего начинается Родина"

11.12.2010 Путин спел песню с джаз-бэндом и сыграл на рояле Премьер-министр РФ Владимир Путин на благотворительном концерте, который прошел в пятницу 10 декабря в Ледовом дворце в Петербурге, сыграл на рояле мелодию "С чего начинается Родина" и спел на английском языке песню с джазовыми музыкантами. Концерт проводился в поддержку российских детей, больных онкологическими и офтальмологическими заболеваниями. В нем приняли участие всемирно известные актеры Шерон Стоун, Кевин Костнер, Моника Белуччи, Венсан Кассель, Голди Хоун, Курт Рассел, Пол Анка, Микки Рурк, Ален Делон, Орнелла Мути, Жерар Депардье. Ведущая концерта долго уговорила главу правительства РФ спеть что-нибудь для зрителей. Для всех согласие Путина спеть стало неожиданностью. "Будем считать, что мы в семейной обстановке и можем поэкспериментировать. Но давайте договоримся, что все это останется между нами. Я, как и большинство людей, не умею ни петь, ни играть, но люблю это делать, и вам придется потерпеть", - сказал Путин. В завершении благотворительной акции Путин взял под руку актрису Шэрон Стоун, и они вместе с остальными участниками мероприятия поднялись на сцену. Singing Putin on dancefloor: 'Blueberry Hill' in the Mix

Russian Prime Minister Vladimir Putin has made his debut as a singer on Russian radio with his recent rendition of 'Blueberry Hill' set to dominate the dance floor. The Russian station Radio 7 said that it played a mix featuring Putin's vocals four different times on Wednesday. The remix was done by well-known DJ Smash (Andrei Shirman), who sampled a recording of Putin performing Blueberry Hill in December of last year while participating in a charity concert in St. Petersburg. Putin sang and played piano for the event. The video featuring Putin's performance of the song was been posted on YouTube and has thus far received over 2 million views. When the electronic version of the song was released, Shirman told Russian journalists that he hoped that Prime Minister Putin would use the song as his ringtone. This might be an unrealizable dream, since during a 2010 meeting with workers from Norilsk Nickel, Putin said that he didn't own a cell phone.
