| Date: Wednesday, 2 June 2010 This video was part of my holiday in Japan in May and June 2010. On this day, I took a Narita Express train from Tokyo Station to Narita International Airport to do my own shopping there. My parents and brother did their own shopping around downtown Tokyo. I used a Green Car seat to and from Narita Airport. JR East ordered the new E259 series for use on Narita Express services between Narita International Airport and the Greater Tokyo Area in 2009. These trains are used to replace the ageing 253 series perviously used on these services until 30 June 2010. These new trains entered service on 1 October 2009 and do not have Green private compartments. As for JR East's 253 series, two 3-car sets were sold to the Nagano Electric Railway for use on new "Snow Monkey" limited express services. After modifications are made to permit wanman driver only operation, they will enter service in spring 2011. The two newest 6-car sets, are currently undergoing refurbishment, and will be re-employed on "Nikko" and "Kinugawa" limited express services, thus replacing the 189 and 485 series currently used on these services. They will enter service on 16 April 2011 and will not have Green class accomodation. Tokyo has 2 airports. They are Haneda and Narita respectively.
