| Belgorod City is the Administrative Center of Belgorod Oblast and is 40 km north from the Ukrainian border. Its was heavily damaged during ww2 but regained its highly developed industrial-agrarian region, whose economy relies on its enormous wealth of mineral resources and the unique black soils. Belgorod and its region has a strong agro-industrial complex driven economy. and the City and region accounts for one fifth of the trade turnover between Russia and Ukraine.
