| I first purchase Canon VIXIA HF G10. Didn't like the way I was expecting low light performance. Then I purchased Sony HDR-TD10 to see how it works to meet real life expectations. I got disappointed on both. They do not perform any better than $400 worth Full HD camcorders. I'm not talking from technical prospectives or feature reach offers on these models. I'm talking from real expectations a general consumer while having a high-end models. If you are a general consumer, don't by both of these high-end models for the purpose of just making general home movies. Unless you can render movie footages using pro apps or can play with light adjustments, shutter speeds, apertures, have steady hands, can measure focus and distance and analyze the depth sphere of the subjects you are shooting on, these are not the camcorders for you. But definitely they quench the thirst of upgrading gadgets whatsoever the reasons are. If you don't care investments, go for them, both of them are uniques in features and fun. You can simply see how this video looks which is shot with Canon VIXIA HF G10 and how the night scene comes to shooting with Sony HDR-TD10 3D camcorder on optimum indoor and night auto settings respectively. At the price paid way over G, I would expect scientifically improved quality over night and lowlight shootings otherwise these gadgets are not worth having one.
