| Part 1/2. Over the weekend of the 2nd and 3rd April 2011, the Nene Valley Railway held its 'Mixed Traction Gala' featuring the majority of the diesel and steam home fleet. This video features action from the morning of the 3rd April with shots taken at Station Road Crossing, Mill Lane Bridge, Splash Dyke and Lynches Bridge locations. Locomotives included J94 'Austerity' British Steel No. 22 (not included in this video), BR Standard Class 5 No. 73050 'City of Peterborough', BR Class 14 No. D9520, Polish Class TKP 'Slask' No. 5485, LMS 4F Class No. 44422 and BR Class 31 No. 31108. In order of appearance in this video, at Station Road No. 73050 'City of Peterborough' heads a passenger train for Peterborough North and No. D9520 light engine in the same direction. At Mill Lane Bridge, No. 73050 'City of Peterborough' heads for Wansford, No. 5485 with a passenger train working for Ferry Meadows and No. D9520 heading a freight train for Wansford. At Splash Dyke we see No. 44422 heading for Ferry Meadows with a passenger train, No 5485 returning to Wansford with a passenger train and No. 31108 heading in the direction of Peterborough North with a TPO working. Lastly at Lynches Bridge, No. 44422 is seen again this time heading back towards Wansford, No. 5485 heading in the opposite direction with a passenger train for Peterborough North and No. 31108 heading the TPO train back to Wansford. |
