Tamron 18-270 PZD

This is an amazing lens. I can't wait to try it out on an auto focusing (in video) body like the Nikon D7000. The auto focus speed could be a bit faster but as far as being quiet this lens wins that award hands down (compared to the original 18-270). Most people will want to buy it just for the fact that its smaller and still has that amazing 15x zoom equivalent. The first part is taken with a canon 60D with a 50mm 1.4.

In its groundbreaking review Dpreview recognized it as a excellent achievement. Its main strengths were - according to Dpreview - the weight and compactness. What would Dpreview say now? Tamron has come with the updated version of the old 18-250 mm. The new model is considerably lighter, smaller and employs faster autofocus motor. We have yet to wait for Dpreview`s opinion about it. Nikon D3100 with Tamron 18-270 PZD

Finally got to do a video using an auto focusing DSLR and the Tamron 18-270 PZD. Not as quiet as I'd like but much better than the kit lens and much faster auto focusing on this body than a 60D or any other DSLR without auto focusing video.

Yes! They finally let me play with a real lens. I"m very happy with both of these lenses ad the much faster auto focus helps alot.

Canon T2i/550D Test Video With Tamron 18-270 VC

Filmed with a Canon T2i/550D - 1080p at 24 FPS. Lens is the Tamron 18-270 VC. Stabilizer is ON and no tripod. If you use one make sure VC is off! (for pics and video) I use manual focus because Rebel's AF sucks for video, even though they upgraded it from 500D to 550D. Edited on Adobe Premiere Pro CS4 encoded on mp4, H264, AAC at 48kHz. Original file size: 1Gb final file size: 268 Mb. Location is my room at the 8th floor of the Hilton Hotel in Athens, Greece.
