| StormStock shooter Martin Lisius: "This sequence is footage of supercell thunderstorms I captured on 35mm motion picture film using my Arriflex 35-3. Supercells are thunderstorms with persistent, rotating updrafts. They produce the largest tornadoes and hail in the world. As you can see, there is a lot of motion in supercells including rotary motion that sometimes give them a flying saucer or "mothership" appearance. I used Kodak Vision 250D and 50D film stocks for this material. Steve Franko at &Transfer in Dallas did the color work to HDCAM using a Spirit Datacine." This 35mm material can be seen in TV commercials, programs and feature films and is licensed by StormStock, the stock footage collection Lisius established in 1993. |
