Claiming that the CID brought false information and witnesses to the court in the case against him, self-styled god-man Nithyananda urged the government to order a CBI inquiry into the allegations against him. Addressing a press conference at Dhyanapeeta Ashram in Bidadi on Wednesday, he said the additional charge-sheet filed against him by the CID in March was a "series of falsifications" and had inconsistencies. "Since the CID is continuously involved in giving false information to the court, I want the case to be investigated by the CBI," he said. Describing the complainant, USA resident Vinay Bharadwaj, as a self-confessed paedophile, Nithyananda said Bharadwaj was currently facing trial in Seattle, US, for multiple incidents of third degree child abuse. In his complaint, Bharadwaj had alleged that Nithyananda was brainwashing him to enter into a homosexual relationship. "It must be noted here that Bharadwaj is a 36-year-old successful techie and a graduate from IIT and USA's top-ranked Rice University. He is hardly an individual who can be "brainwashed" into a homosexual relationship for seven years," Nithyananda said. He alleged the charge-sheet omitted the statements of 15 other witnesses who revealed details against Bharadwaj and other conspirators, and medical reports of both Nithyanada and Bharadwaj.
