CSX Train 7 Locomotives 123 Cars Long

This is the longest freight train I have ever recorded near my home town. It has 7 locomotives and 123 cars. At the location where I was filming it started picking up speed and by the time the near end of the train was approaching me, it was doing about 70 MPH. The railroad ties are made of concrete and the wind started blowing by me so fast I had to hold down my tripod. One of my best railroad video's yet!!!!!!! It was filmed on February 1, 2012 in Zephyrhills Florida in Pasco County.

View coverage of this single track mainline in Southwest Ohio between Hamilton and Vandalia Ohio. This footage was shot in 2009 from early Spring to late Fall. Being a single track line with an adequate amount of traffic, the action is intense. Numerous passing sidings along the way make for interesting railroading. Locations covered include: Hamilton, New River Yard, Trent, Trenton, Middletown, W. Middletown, Carlisle, Miamisburg, Dayton, and Vandalia. The CSX Toledo Sub serves as an artery between Detroit and Cincinnati, Louisville and other points to the South. Automobiles and auto parts trains make up the majority of consists but you'll also see grain, coal, and regular manifest trains.

CSX Incident at Gaithersburg, Maryland

CSX - We brake for broken couplers! A CSX westbound freight (Q-416) goes into an emergency brake application in front of the Gaithersburg, Maryland station blocking the Summit Ave. crossing for more than three hours. The conductor rides on three other passing trains as he and the engineer make the necessary repairs on two broken couplers on this long and heavy freight.

Conrail over, three CSX under. Great crew & timing at Wampum, PA. 1995

While waiting for some CSX action on the P&LE (CSX has trackage rights) at Wampum, PA, a Conrail coal train with CR 6260 leading, came north on the Youngstown line and stopped on the bridge over the Beaver River to wait for permission for a work area to clear. We had to scoot down to the river bank to get some pictures of the power and the train on the bridge. The crew noticed us, then pointed forward. He throttled up, and pulled the power up so that he was sitting directly over the P&LE main. Within minutes! The first CSX west bound came with CSX 8046 leading, followed by two more right on his heels. CSX 7808 on the second, and CSX 6260 on the third.. It wasn't very long after the third CSX cleared, that the Conrail crew got permission to proceed north. The friend crew gave us a few extra blast, and a wave, and he was on his way. CSX Railfanning - Valrico, FL - Sunday March 25, 2012

My first railfan stop on Sunday March 25th was at Valrico, FL. Watch the dog try to play chicken with T081. You can see the dog walking on the siding. He then crosses over to the main and begins to walk towards the train until he thought better of it. CSX SD40-2's Locomotives

On Good Friday of 2012, during Spring Break, my Dad and I went to Defiance, Ohio to film freights running along CSX's Chicago Corridor. Setting up about a mile east of the diamond between Maumee & Western Railroad and CSX, we caught this amazing lash-up of two CSX SD40-2 locomotives powering the manifest freight. Not too often these days do you see an SD40-2, yet alone two at the lead! It certainly was excellent filming the train around the curve, adjacent to the site of where the former B&O Depot once stood. [HD] TrainzWatching: CSX Q235 Auburndale - Plant City (Trainz Simulator 12)

A little bit of classic Q235 operating through the Tampa A-Line on CSX. Included is a holdup for Q452 and the setout at Winston for Q251. Not much to write, just sit back and enjoy the chase! Update - According to Tim (FloridaTrainKid) and some Central Florida railfans posting up on it Q235 goes the opposite way through here and Q237 now goes to Tampa. The more trains the merrier - I'm happy!
