THE CONCORDE STORY

The Aérospatiale-BAC Concorde is a turbojet-powered supersonic passenger airliner, a supersonic transport (SST). It was a product of an Anglo-French government treaty, combining the manufacturing efforts of Aérospatiale and the British Aircraft Corporation. First flown in 1969, Concorde entered service in 1976 and continued commercial flights for 27 years. Among other destinations, Concorde flew regular transatlantic flights from London Heathrow (British Airways) and Paris-Charles de Gaulle Airport (Air France) to New York JFK, profitably flying these routes at record speeds, in less than half the time of other airliners. With only 20 aircraft built, their development represented a substantial economic loss, in addition to which Air France and British Airways were subsidised by their governments to buy them. As a result of the type's only crash on 25 July 2000 and other factors, its retirement flight was on 26 November 2003. Concorde's name reflects the development agreement between the United Kingdom and France. In the UK, any or all of the type—unusual for an aircraft—are known simply as "Concorde". The aircraft is regarded by many as an aviation icon.

Concorde Flight 4590

I found this music with the voice recording in the web. Don´t know who made this. There exists no full video of this crash and the black box recording was never released. So i made this video with the spoken text and music of the band and took original clips and clips from reports and brought it together to reconstruct the horrible moment. In memory of Captain Christian Marty who was also one of the first man and the first Frenchman who crossed the Atlantic Ocean on the surfboard and in memory of the crew and all the other people who died. Concorde's Final Departure from JFK

Video of final Concorde departure from Kennedy International Airport - "Speedbird Concorde 2" (British Airways 002). I tried to capture, for one last time, the excitement and adrenaline of seeing Concorde take-off, and its effect on those working at the airport (ATC and Rescue Squad comms overheard on my radio), and those watching by the sidelines (listen to the comments, and car horns honking on a nearby road) as Concorde takes off from JFK for the last time. It was FREEZING outside, but was definitely worth it! Concorde Cockpit Experience

Concorde Flight to Iceland

I hope this short film gives you some experience of sights and sounds from inside the cabin of Concorde. It was sad to see AA lifeless in the Museum but I am please to see that it is housed with tender loving care. If you listen carefully, you will hear the roar of the take-off, the increased wind noise as the landing gear is extended, the reflection of the noise from the tarmac as we came in to land. You'll notice in the cockpit that our First Officer was Barbara Harmer, the first and only woman Concorde pilot. Apologies for the vertical banding in the cockpit shot. This seems to be the feature of the mp4 compression. In the cockpit, you may notice that the airspeed was 386kts, the height was 31400ft, the Mach meter was reading 1.01 -- so the video of the flight deck was as we were passing through the speed of sound! I'll upload some clips without backing music so that it is easier to hear the cabin sounds. Music: Flower Duet from an opera called "Lakmé" by Delibes and sound track from the film "The Mission".
