Chevron Fights HIV/AIDS in South Africa

Chevron Human Energy Stories: www.chevron.com - In the Dunoon community near Chevron's Cape Town Refinery, more than 50 percent of residents have HIV/AIDS. Chevron, in partnership with the Department of Social Development and Heavenly Promise, established the Dunoon Home Community Based Care Center (HCBC) to meet the needs of home-bound AIDS patients. The community center provides meals and assistance to over 150 patients fighting AIDS each week. The partnership offers project management training to all who work there, enabling this project to be run by the community for the community.

Chevron Creates Jobs in Pascagoula

For more about the Pascacoula Refinery, visit pascagoula.chevron.com Construction of a $1.4 billion premium base oil plant at Chevron's refinery in Pascagoula, Miss., is expected to create about 1000 jobs for local workers. As contract employees of one of the project's builders, KBR, workers receive training and skills they can apply to future jobs when the plant's two-year construction phase concludes. When completed, the premium base oil plant will have a daily production capacity of 25000 barrels of base oil, the main ingredient in premium motor oils.
