iPad Garageband - Guitar Jam Improvisation

UPDATE to answer to all comments saying "I would like to see you do that on Android tablet" because I said that Android tablets are better than iPads. Oh fanboys... I would never buy a 400-500$ tablet just to make music. In fact nobody should. You can buy a computer and actually PRODUCE music. Its easier, its better. So you obviously buy a tablet for other uses; Work? Gaming? Entertainment? Doesn't really matter. Over the last year Android tablets managed to offer more for less money. Just live with it. Garageband on iPad (and mac) is a very nice program and YES we will not see something like that on Android soon. But it is still just a toy. If it was not a toy, Apple would not design and sell Logic, which is a professional DAW. So buy a 400-500$ toy? Hmmm... No thanks. If you want to produce music get a computer. Even with freeware software you will get better results. If you want a tablet for actual tablet uses (work, gaming, entertainment) get an Android tablet. So.... This is me creating a jam track with apple's Garageband app for the ipad and then shredding a guitar solo over it! I am sorry about the bad video quality, but i could not find a way to record ipad's screen in a fast framerate. Anyway i believe you will get the idea. Hope you enjoy!

I pre recorded everything using only Garageband and thought making a music video would be a fun way to show what you can do with Garageband for the iPad. The song is called "love me, leave me" and is not available for download. (sorry) ----- The iPad used in this video is the iPad 2. It's got a camera on the front and the back. The back camera is an HD camera but the front isn't. I downloaded Garageband for the iPad 2. It allows you to create songs on the go, up to 8 tracks. Garageband for the iPad 1 and 2 comes standard with numerous sounds like pianos, guitars, synths, basses, drums and even a sampler. It's also got a built in amplifier which allows you to plug your electric guitar in the iPad 1 & 2! You can also record vocals using the iPad microphone which I did in this song. It sounds pretty decent and it's even got little features like echo and reverb that you can add to your tracks. The Garageband app is available in the appstore on your iPad 1 or iPad 2 and is not compatible with an iPod or iPhone. It costs $5. I'd recommend it but don't expect professional recordings. **READ** This is created with using the Remix Tools Jam Pack. Don't tell me you can't find these loops on your version of Garageband. You need the Jam Pack. Usher's new song is made with straight loops from the Remix Tools Jam Pack for Garageband *Edit* SoNiCxBlaCK pointed out that I left out "Euro Hero Synth 1." I have no idea how I overlooked that, but thanks to him for pointing that out.

HOW TO RECORD YOUR VOICE USING GARAGEBAND

How to record your voice with a microphone using Apple's Garageband and then export or save the recording as a mp3 file. 1. Turn on computer. 2. Plug in headphones 3. Turn off computer speakers if needed 4. Make sure headphones are working 5. Open system prefernces and go to sounds 6. Select your microphone type from inputs 7. Make sure you have levels 8. Close system preferences 9. Launch Garageband 10. Select podcast 11. select you male vocal track 12. Select monitor from track info 13. Record you voice 14. Move song slider to end of the recording 15. Share to disk 16. Select mp3 and custom. 17. Save There ya go.
