Gimmelwald Mountain Hostel 2008

I had an awesome time at this hostel near Interlaken in June 2008. I had a previous version posted that had a soundtrack, that I have since removed to comply with copyright law (I preferred the music, but, oh well - it had 750 views). Hotel Mittaghorn in Gimmelwald Switzerland

We enjoyed our stay in Hotel Mittaghorn Switzerland. The accommodations can be described as rustic with plenty of charm. I warn you that this place makes a lot of creaky noises and you have to pay for hot shower. With that being said, I would come back and stay at Hotel Mittaghorn.

Walk Murren to Gimmelwald

They say this a 20 minute walk from Murren to Gimmelwald, probably a difference of 800ft. Takes a bit longer, especially going up back to Murren :) Nice to have a message back at the hotel afterwards.

Mürren-Gimmelwald Via Ferrata - 600m drop part

Great, well prepared Klettersteig with very nice views. We were lucky to also enjoy a wonderful sunny day! Filmed with a ContourHD 1080p helmet camera. More information about this Via Ferrata can be found here (in German): www.via-ferrata.de The route goes mostly downwards so it does not actually involve that much climbing. This is the most exposed part of the route. There are also three bridges and some nice ladder sections later. Highly recommended/Suositellaan lämpimästi! :) Cheers, jp
