Blade Symphony - Dev Journal 2 "Judgement Costumes"

This is the second development journal using a "micro vlog" style of video, in which we're keeping it short and sweet for 30-60s per video. Feedback is still appreciated! In this development journal, we take a look at the first three of Judgement's costumes in Blade Symphony. All Blade Symphony music and scores have been composed entirely by Tom Stoffel (www.tomstoffel.com

Doom 3: GX2 Mod Presentation / Comparison

GX2 Mod Development Journal: doom3-gx2.livejournal.com MORE GX2 VIDEOS ARE IN MY CHANNEL -------------------------------------------- VISIT: www.JbkPerformance.com -------------------------------------------- I am still working on the mod. Ran into a lot of problems latley with my OS and PC. So that set me back a bit and a few more bugs in the mod have showed up. I am still trying to find a solution on how to release this mod. I wont give up :P ******************************************** My Doom 3 mod is complete. I decided to name it GX2 because of the upcoming GeForce 9800GX2 release. This video shows you the main differences and changes between the mod and vanillia Doom 3. Mostly its about the graphics and effects that have been improved. All walls have new high resolution Textures with Parallax Maps and Shaders such as Bloom wich add nice reflactions on the steel surfaces. All monsters have new skins with higher resolution and other effects. Yet I tried not to go too far off the original ideas, since I think Doom 3 is a good game. The gameplay is also a BIG change in this mod. My goal was to make the game more exciting. I changed things like the Imps, they now have more health and do more damage. So now when you see a Imp, you will be as scared as if it was a Hellknight. But I balanced it out, you will have more ammo, the guns are a bit better and med packs give a bit more health. I cant get into too much detail cause I changed a LOT, but its all very well balanced ...

Blade Symphony - Dev Journal 6 "Ryoku Costumes"

In this development journal, we're showing the new costumes available for Ryoku. In addition to "Koto," the two costumes "Ink" and "Mars" allow a special look for players to customize their characters to. Costume changes will never affect gameplay, but we would like it to affect future aesthetics such as animations or particles. Blade Symphony is a third-person sword-fighting duel game set in an alternate universe, taking advantage of Valve's Source Engine. We started development journals using a "micro vlog" style of video, in which we're keeping it short and sweet.

Blade Symphony - Dev Journal 5 "Sword and Character Selection"

In the fifth development journal, we're showing the sword selection menu we implemented during our open alpha phase and the recently completed character selection menu. The character selection menu allows the player to select different characters and costumes for those characters, as well as get information on those characters and their stances. Blade Symphony - Dev Journal 4 "Parry Mechanic"

In the fourth development journal, you can see the new combat mechanic alternative to blocking, the Parry maneuver. In addition to deflecting incoming attacks, Parrying allows the player to stun their opponent for a few seconds so they are able to retaliate. Adventures in Game Development Chapter 17 Part 1

Indie Game Development Journal elysianshadows.com http Part 1 - www.youtube.com Part 2 - www.youtube.com Part 3 - www.youtube.com Part 4 - www.youtube.com So after a year and a half, the Adventures in Game Development finally returns with Chapter 17. The team has spent quite a bit of time with Tyler, James, and Jarrod coding all night, abusing caffeine (and beer), and pursuing our passions. It is with this spirit that we finally feel comfortable resurrecting our original series in all of its crude, uncensored, game development goodness. Please welcome Tyler Rogers to the Elysian Shadows team. He will be contributing to the SDK in the form of scripting (and quality assurance, haha) as well as storyline development. Please welcome Dual-Threat studios to the Adventures in Game Development. We are extraordinarily pleased to be working with such talented, passionate, and driven individuals. We also think that they will help spice up AiGD and prevent Marcel and Falco from drawing you guys in our technical mindfuckery. On the ES front, the team has gone rogue and is now supporting Apple products with its engine/SDK... along with Windows, Dreamcast, and PSP. Marcel has launched a brand new "Toolkit" for the ES SDK written in C++ and using QT. With this new toolkit, the engine and editor are able to share a code base for asset loading. This framework is called the "Joint AssetIO Framework." We are also introduced to the mechanism for capturing debug output of critical loading ...
