The Red-throated Parrotfinch is native of New Caledonia. Birds with normal color have a bright green body, face and tail protruding red. The sexes are very similar. They differ in their approach to the colors duller in the female. It feeds on seeds of alpiste, millet, white, panic, and niger seed lawns. Its reproduction occurs during our winter, with temperatures around 20 degrees. Average of 3 or 4 broods per season with the help of nurses in captivity (White-rumped Munia).

Wednesay, 15th September 2010 - Khao Nor Chu Chi, Krabi, Thailand The female bird was more cautious, selecting the spots and feeding on fruits from the lower level with foliages from the nearby trees as shelter. I did come out in the opening for brief period for the video to be taken
