| I purchased this Panasonic HDC-TM900 BRAND NEW after reading some glowing reviews about the features it offered at a reasonable price. I eagerly anticipated the arrival of this camera and was really looking forward to posting an unboxing/review on YouTube. When the camera arrived, I charge the battery and started to record some test footage. After about 5 minutes, I noticed an annoying clicking sound coming from the camera. Initially, I believed it was the "zoom lever" so used extra caution when rocking this lever from side-to-side. However, the rattling/clicking sound still persisted. I then discovered that it was NOT the zoom lever but the "mode selection switch" causing the annoying rattling/clicking noise. The only way I have been able to resolve this issue is to use a piece of electrical tape to cover this switch during handheld recording. THIS IS RIDICULOUS! ELECTRICAL TAPE ON A BRAND NEW CAMERA! I contacted Panasonic and they told me to send the camera in for an exchange. Before I packed-up the camera, I decided to visit two local electronic stores in my area and check out their display models of this camera. BOTH CAMERAS I TESTED HAD THE SAME ISSUE! This Camera replaced an old Sony tape camera I have had for 10 years. I strayed away from Sony this time due to cost. I took a chance with Panasonic, now I feel burned :( |
