JERIN Highlight: Gala Opening Concert

Under the musical direction of the renowned conductor Gudni Emilsson, a remarkable international co-operation is bringing together 150 top musicians from Indonesia, Thailand and Germany. The Batavia Madrigal Singers, the Amadeus String Orchestra, the Tübingen Chamber Orchestra and the Thailand Philharmonic Orchestra (www.thailandphil.com) are joining together to stage two unique evening concerts in Surabaya and Jakarta. Supported by Mercedes Benz, performances of Beethoven's "Egmont", Carl Maria von Weber's operatic "Freischütz", "Lohengrin" and "Tannhäuser" by Wagner and Carl Orff's celebrated "Carmina Burana" promise an unforgettable concert experience which will be the first of JERIN's exciting programme of event.

A performer since the middle of the 1990s, Uwe started as a Rap-artist and became a Reggae-singer later. He impressively proves how music is able to obliberate cultural barriers and thus gets over them. Because he is not just a copy of Jamaican Reggae-artists, but transfers the original message into a German and his personal context.
