| 1st draught • A short clip from an interesting 1 hour documentary shown Tuesday 27 March 2012 (Britain) on Mormons, Mormonism and Mitt Romney, a wealthy politician. This is of interest to me. As regards the programme, it is revealing that one of the leaders had a slip of the tongue in calling President Obama, "Osama". Also it is of interest to me - other than the outlandish shunning pantomime, an obdurate religio-playact conducted and control managed also in the Jehovah's Witness Watchtower cult of practising 'shunning' of members. This is a silly, jesterish deprivation device to imply by gag, and to belittle & tactically diminish the person that they have fallen out of favour with something perceived as estimable and those holding up its (interpreted) value system. Do leaders or 'elders' get shunned? And is it ever given regard that bible directives note 'allow yourself to be wronged' as well as removing people from the 'church' by excommunication. Which one has precedence over the other?, how is the balance of those 2 dynamics arrived at.? Love the higher law, that believes and endures all things, is clearly relegated in the modern 'church', and i ask how and who is going to shun out these leaders who are 'shunning' members, members of their personal church whom ironically fulfil scripture by sinning. If love never fails, whereby a church 'elder' does, who checks their hand.? Who is there to extirpate the haughty from high office as they shepherd yet engage in shun ... |
