Lauren Lyster Inadvertently Blows Massive Hole In Peter Schiff's Senseless Money Supply Argument

Bonehead Petey as usual goes on with his idiotic ramblings about Fed money printing being the cause of all prices rising etc. - and denies that speculators are involved - until Lauren Lyster asks him "So, if quantitative easing and easy money are driving the rise in commodities, isn't it investors who are taking that easy money and investing it in commodities?" .....You guessed it right? No answer, haha. So this bonehead thinks that if you print some money, miraculously prices just go up. What a dumbshit. That's like saying Smith & Wesson makes some guns, therefore they are responsible for all the people dying in wars. Not to mention that as I have pointed out many times, M3 money supply is contracting not growing. Petey - the capo di tutti of all dumbshits.

TBTF Sheriff Bill Black on the MF Global Cover-up: "All those that doeth Evil hateth the light!"

Follow us @ twitter.com twitter.com Welcome to Capital Account. The Federal Reserve Bank of Dallas says Dodd-Frank did not end too big to fail, and says we must downsize the TBTF monsters in the view of Richard Fisher. This, as some US lawmakers are working to push back the timeline for a key part of Dodd-Frank, the Volcker Rule...a rule regulators and banks already appear to be hollowing out. We'll look at what the costs of these actions could be Meanwhile, the "Corzine Rule" is reportedly gaining momentum -- this would restrict what brokerage firms can do with customer money. Before looking forward -- what about the unanswered questions and accountability in the MF Global bankruptcy and what we consider theft of customer money? We'll talk to William K. Black, the former regulator who oversaw prosecutions of bankers for fraud during the S&L crisis to find out what it would take to see justice in this case. We will discuss some of the peculiarities surrounding the MF Global bankruptcy, the decision by CFTC chairman Gary Gensler to proceed with a Chapter 11 bankruptcy as per the SEC, with a SIPA/SIPC liquidation for the brokerage unit, which put the customers on even footing with the creditors, instead of a Chapter 7 bankruptcy for the entire company. We ask Bill Black if this is an example of control fraud and regulatory capture, and where a crime has been committed here. Meanwhile, do you think we have enough lawyers in the US already? Well, you may be happy to hear this ...

Krugman "Knocked out of Neoclassical Orbit" by Steve Keen's Meteoric Rise!

Follow us @ twitter.com twitter.com Welcome to Capital Account! The internet has been abuzz over the blogosphere boxing match between Nobel Laureate and New York Times columnist Paul Krugman and debunker of economic conventional wisdom and superhero economist, Steve Keen. Remember that game "Mike Tyson's Punch Out?" Well, let's just say that Steve Keen gave Paul Krugman one upper-cut too many for the establishment intellectual to handle. Krugman declared victory and walked away before he could be dealt any more blows to his economic ego -- not before Krugman could land one more low blow though...we'll break it down! And a too big to fail bank agrees to pay 20 million bucks to settle allegations from regulators that it mishandled customer funds before a major broker's collapse, but the details may surprise you. If you guessed JP Morgan, then you got half of the story right, but if you guessed the broker was MF Global, well, we have news for you: it's Lehman Brothers. That's right, JPMorgan Chase agreed to pay a $20m fine to settle allegations that the bank mishandled Lehman Brothers' customer funds for roughly two years before the broker filed for bankruptcy court protection. The Commodity Futures Trading Commission alleged that JPMorgan, at the request of Lehman, began using customer funds in November 2006 to calculate how much credit it would extend to Lehman Brothers intraday, in violation of customer segregation account rules. And last Friday we exposed the myth of the ...

GATA's Bill Murphy exposes how the Gold Cartel is Bombing the Market for Precious Metals

Follow us @ twitter.com twitter.com Welcome to Capital Account. In one of his writings, a leading English art critic of the Victorian era, John Ruskin, told the story of a man who boarded a ship carrying his entire wealth in a large bag of gold coins. When a storm hit a few days into the voyage and the decision was made to abandon ship, the man strapped the bag around his waist, jumped overboard, and sank straight to the bottom of the sea. The man's body was found with the wreck of the ship many years later. Reflecting on this, Ruskin asked "Now, as he was sinking, had he the gold? Or had the gold him?" We tell you this story to impress upon you the enduring value that gold has held in the minds of people through the centuries. It has represented not only a store of value, but a means to an end...any end, including one that concludes at thebottom of the sea. For muchof Western history, gold has been synonymous with money. It was not so long ago that the United States and Europe fixed their currencies to gold, and despite the free floating currency regime that we have had since the end of Bretton Woods in the early 1970s, one could argue that we are still on a defacto gold standard. After all, gold has been rising steadily, and at times rather frenetically, since 2001, when it was trading at below 300 dollars per ounce, to levels nearing 2000 dollars in the past year. There are those, like Nouriel Roubini, who have been calling it a bubble since at least 2009. One of the ...
