| February 5, 2011 On February 5, 2011, me, Ray, and Brandon made a little excursion to get something very rare for these parts, a Union Pacific Heritage engine! NS 212 had UP 1982, the MoPac Heritage engine leading the day before, and chances were it would trail on 213 the next day. The only damper on this day was cold, bitter rain that would fall throughout the day, hence some shots with rain on the lens, but the shot that mattered was spared :) 8:28 AM - The meeting spot was Woodbourne, were it was absolutely dreadful. SEPTA 4308 came east with three Silverliner IV's, and CSX Q300-05 comes east some Lansdale cars. They shove into Woodbourne Yard for some work. Power was a grimy looking CSX AC44CW 217 leading, and much cleaner CSX AC44CW 468 trailing. Sorry for some less than ideal shots on this one, Brandon was having some trouble taking stills while holding an umbrella. 4308 - Philadelphia, PA - West Trenton, NJ SEPTA Silverliner IV 153 SEPTA Silverliner IV 154 SEPTA Silverliner IV 400 Q300 - Philadelphia, PA - Oak Island, NJ Manifest CSX AC44CW 217 CSX AC44CW 468 After Q300-05, we made the journey to Three Bridges, NJ, which is at milepost 48.4 on the NS Lehigh Line. When we were pulling in, we ended up with a surprise..... 9:36 AM - We ended up stopping at the gates for NS 21M, which pounded west at nearly 60 MPH with NS CW40-9 9357, NS CW40-9 9725, and NS CW40-9 9159 for power. 21M - Croxton, NJ - Chicago-63rd Street, IL Intermodal NS CW40-9 9357 NS CW40-9 9725 NS ... |
