Nord Stream Event Documentation: The Arrival (english version)

On November 8th, 2011, the inauguration of the first natural gas pipeline through the Baltic Sea was celebrated. The ceremony held in Lubmin near Greifswald was attended by high-ranking guests representing politics, industry, and the media, including German Chancellor Angela Merkel, President of the Russian Federation Dmitry Medvedev, French Prime Minister François Fillon, Prime Minister of the Netherlands Mark Rutte, and EU Commissioner for Energy Günther Oettinger. Commissioned by the Nord Stream AG, Triad Berlin developed a general concept for the event in relation to both content and design and also took care of its implementation as well as of the production of audio-visual materials presented at the event. Putin and Schroeder get Nord Stream pumping

A controversial pipeline to pump Russian gas to Europe has been officially inaugurated. The 8.8 billion euro Nord Stream project was agreed in 2005 by then Russian President Vladimir Putin and then German Chancellor Gerhard Schroeder - and both men were on hand to launch the first test flows. Last year, 95 billion cubic metres of Russian gas were pumped to Europe via Ukraine. Nord Stream_Underwater_Tie_Ins

Each of the two Nord Stream Pipelines is built in three sections. Once completed, the sections are welded together. This "tie-in" process takes place on the seabed in an underwater welding habitat. Nord Stream Hyperbaric Tie-ins

The Nord Stream Project is installing two 48" gas export pipelines from Vyborg in Russia to Greifswald in Germany, through the Gulf of Finland and the Baltic Sea. The two pipelines run in parallel and each have a total length of approximately 1220 km. The total transport capacity of the lines is 55 billion m3 per year. The first of the two lines was completed with two hyperbaric welded tie-ins performed by Technip in Norway and Technip's divers in 2011. One tie-in in Finnish waters, one in Swedish waters. A parallel pipeline has been laid and the hyperbaric tie-ins will be performed during the spring/summer of 2012. First gas was delivered in September 2011.

Nord Stream : A new road for gas in Europe

GDF SUEZ owns a share of 9% in the Nord Stream pipeline project between Russia and Europe. Nord Stream enables to trace a new road for the Russian gas exported to Europe. A 1 200km long, this underwater gas pipeline will connect Portovaya Bay (near Vyborg) with the German coast (near Greiswald) through the Baltic sea. The Nord Stream project is led by the AG Nord Stream consortium, in charge of the study, the construction and the future exploitation of the underwater gas pipeline.

Nord Stream_Solitaire_Completes _Work

Allseas' Solitaire, the world's largest pipelay vessel, has completed work on Line 2 of the Nord Stream natural gas pipeline through the Baltic Sea ahead of schedule. Nord Stream Event: The Arrival, Full-Dome-Projection (english version)

Anlässlich der Feierlichkeiten zur Eröffnung der Nord Stream Pipeline in Lubmin übernahm Triad Berlin im Auftrag der Nord Stream AG die inhaltliche und gestalterische Konzeption sowie die Umsetzung und mediale Inszenierung des Events. Der Festakt fand in einer eigens dafür gebauten Zeltlandschaft aus überdimensionalen geodätischen Kuppeln statt, die in ihrer Form das Symbol des Gasmoleküls aufnahmen. Im größten, einem 500 qm großen Kuppel-Zelt, wurde die Erfolgsgeschichte dieses europäischen Projektes durch eine von Triad Berlin produzierte und durch 25 Projektoren ermöglichte 360°-Projektion zu einem dreidimensionalen Erlebnis. Das Highlight des Festaktes, der „Vision-Film", führt die Zuschauer emotional durch die Meilensteine des Projektes und lässt sie regelrecht in die Welt von Nord Stream eintauchen und die Erfolgsgeschichte des Pipelinebaus hautnah erleben.
