| On Wednesday, May 4, 2011, Sen. Al Franken (D-Minn.) delivered a floor statement against Republican efforts to undermine the Federal Communications Commission's Net Neutrality rule through a resolution of disapproval. Sen. Franken vowed to fight the resolution (HJ Res. 37) when it's taken up by fellow senators. He also announced he would deliver 87000 letters signed by Free Press activists (including 2000 Minnesotans) opposing the House's effort to undo the FCC's open Internet rules, which he did later that day.
