| EDIT: Addressing some of the comments: Some people report that the video is jerky or jittery, that's because I have raw mouse input enabled and I generally move my mouse around very rapidly. The video is recorded at 50 fps, rendered at 30fps. ----- To further explain the issue, I have copy pasted a post I made: The reason some people don't notice it is because they either write their deaths off as just them doing something wrong, they don't rush as much or most probably, they are on servers where they and the server's population consistently share a same, low to medium ping. That's why you have guys here saying they've not experienced it. And that's probably the case, they either haven't experienced it or haven't noticed it. Saying that it's about high latency is basically just stating the obvious. Yes, it is a problem of high latency. That's what, in essence, provides these situations. If the hit registration is client sided, it's going to cause problems on servers where the population has pings that vary a lot. That's where these sort of things happen more frequently. So if there's someone in a server that consistently kills you instantly, you can bet that they have a ridiculously high ping. If people are killing you before you see them popping out of cover, it's probably a case of them having a ridiculously low ping. That's how it works and it sucks balls. Not only because it's client sided, but because players are not kept in sync properly. Yes, BF3 might be a very ... |
