| www.winkball.com Beth Tweddle is a hugely successful British gymnast, boasting an extensive collection of medals. She is most notably a three-time world champion, having claimed gold for the Uneven Bars in the 2006 and 2010 World Championships and gold for her work on the Floor in 2009. She was awarded bronze for the Uneven Bars in 2003 and 2005. Tweddle also has gold medals from the 2006, 2009, 2010 and 2011 European Championships for the Uneven Bars and the Floor, a gold from the Bars from the 2002 Commonwealth Games in Manchester, and a gold from the 2006 Sao Paolo World Cup Final, also for her speciality, the Uneven Bars. This made her, at the time, the first British gymnast to claim a medal at both the World and European Championships. And in addition to the international success, she was easily dominating the National Championships, having won the title every year between 2001 and 2007. For Tweddle, the home crowd is an advantage -- and she has experience of it from Birmingham and Manchester (European Championships and Commonwealth Games, respectively). She would love for London 2012 to be the pinnacle of her career, as it will be her last Championships. |
