| Pulsejet engine vertical launch - VTOL vertical take off and landing rocket www.beck-technologies.com Pulsejet engines have been overlooked as a propulsion system because most people think they are low power and inefficient. Pulsejet engines actually have quite high power to weight ratios, comparable fuel consumption to RC turbines, and have few or no moving parts, meaning they cost about 1 as much as a hobby turbojet and rarely need any form of maintenance. This is a video of an old demo we did, to show the potential of pulsejets. The engine is an old 1960's era dynajet, which is not anywhere near optimized, yet it still has impressive lift performance. Sitting on the ground most people dont see the potential these engines have, and are content with saying they are useless, when that couldn't be further from the truth. Pulsejets could be used on anything from RC hobby hovercrafts and RC VTOL planes, to small UAV's, and many other things.
