X1.1 Solar Flare + CME / Solar Watch March 5, 2012

X-FLARE !! Solar activity is now high. Big Active Region 11429, which emerged on March 2nd, is crackling with strong flares. The strongest so far, an X1-class eruption, occured just ths morning, March 5th at 0413 UT. The explosion also hurled a bright coronal mass ejection (CME) into space. The expanding cloud will probably deliver a glancing blow to Earth's magnetic field on March 7th. High-latitude sky watchers should be alert for auroras in the nights ahead. Sun-Diving Comet / Earth Directed CME April 24, 2012

SUNDIVING COMET: A Sun-Diving was caught on the Soho satellite feed April 23rd, shortly after the comet's death plunge a large Halo coronal mass ejection (CME) was observed and appears to have earth directed components. Impact on the earths magnetic field is expected sometime April 27th. X5.4 Flare + Earth Directed CME / Solar Watch March 7, 2012

Major X 5.4 Solar Flare !! The second strongest solar flare of Solar Cycle 24 and the Second X-Flare from Active Region 11429, after further investigation there may have been a double X Flare as another spike was registered shortly after the initial X 5.4 event with a another X 1.3 registered at 01:14UTC. The major event measured X 5.4 at 00:24 UTC and triggered a strong R3 Level Radio Blackout. A coronal mass ejection was captured shortly after and is headed earths way ETA March 8-9. The expected CME from March 4 has impacted the earths magnetic field moments ago, causing the Bz component of the IMP to deviate sharply southward to - 20nT. Geomagnetic storm should result. A strong Proton event is now in progress. this X-Flare was predicted in this video below www.youtube.com Earthquake Forecasting Channel youtube.com Earthquake Reporting Channel www.youtube.com solarwatcher website solarwatcher.net Soho Website http Solar Soft website www.lmsal.com WSA-Enlil Solar Wind Prediction www.swpc.noaa.gov Helioviewer www.helioviewer.org Quality Solar Website www.solarham.com Estimated Planetary K index information http GOES Xray Flux Data www.swpc.noaa.gov Sunspot Information from Solar Monitor www.solarmonitor.org Quality Weather Website www.westernpacificweather.com Space Weather Website http Intro music used is royalty free and created by Kevin MacLeod Music used is Omega Point by Mark Petrie

1/23/2012 -- Earth directed -- Large CME (coronal mass ejection) and Solar flare erupt from sun --

Full blog post here: sincedutch.wordpress.com As if this week wasn't shaping up to be busy enough with the current earthquake threat, and severe weather developments. This may cause communication disruption (satellite) -- power grid disruption, and magnetosphere stress -- which can then cause earthquakes and severe weather as a result of the interaction. Possible large development of Aurora Borealis further south than normal. M1.7 Flare / Major CME April 16, 2012

M1.7 Solar Flare / Major Coronal Mass Ejection A major eruption on the solar corona that peaked to M1.7 intensity at 17:45 UTC on April 16th also produced a major coronal mass ejection (CME) into space. As this active region is not fully rotated onto the earth facing side of the disk it is unlikely that this CME is directed to the earth therefore should not be geoeffective. M1.9 Solar Flare & Earth Directed CME May 7, 2012

Active Region 11471 Produced an M1.9 Flare and a weak Halo Coronal Mass Ejection (CME) followed shortly after. This long duration event induced a 10cm Radio Burst or TenFlare reaching 240 solar flux units. The incoming CME does have and earth bound component but does not appear to be strong enough to cause a geomagnetic storm. ETA late May 10 to early May 11. Active Region 11476 continues to grow in size and magnetic complexity as it rotates further onto the solar disk. Filament Eruption & Earth Directed CME May 13, 2012

A magnetic filament which was in an earth facing position has become unstable and lifted off the solar corona. The resulting eruption produced a Full Halo Coronal Mass Ejection headed earths way. Although its too early to tell but it does appear that the CME will impact the earth sometime May 15. Meanwhile Active Region 11476 is starting to show signs of decay in the rear trailer spots but might get its act together to produce some strong flares just before it rotates off the disk in 3-4 days. solarwatcher website solarwatcher.net Earthquake Forecasting Channel http Earthquake Reporting Channel www.youtube.com Soho Website sohowww.nascom.nasa.gov Solar Soft website www.lmsal.com Solar Terrestrial Activity Report www.solen.info WSA-Enlil Solar Wind Prediction www.swpc.noaa.gov Helioviewer www.helioviewer.org Quality Solar Website www.solarham.com Estimated Planetary K index information http GOES Xray Flux Data www.swpc.noaa.gov Sunspot Information from Solar Monitor www.solarmonitor.org Quality Weather Website www.westernpacificweather.com Space Weather Website http Intro music used is royalty free and created by Kevin MacLeod Ending music used is Swords and Claws by Soundcritters
