It is an attempt to show that co-operative societies are ran differently from other businesses as we are ran by individual members and not shareholders, and also help in showing off our more unified branding as "The co-operative" rather than "the co-op". Historically co-operative group businesses, co-op food shops and co-op banks and co-op travel, CIS etc., have had separate logo's and separate approaches to marketing which has probably led to a confusion of what "the co-op" is. Two years ago co-operative group started to introduce a unified "The co-operative" logo replacing the various old logos and trading names used across the family of businesses. Now this new logo and colour scheme (green for food, orange for travel, blue for financial, purple for funerals, turquoise for pharmacy) has reached critical mass it was felt it was the right time to communicate these new brands, and also the message that co-operative societies are good for everyone, as they can be owned by everyone and all profits that are not re-invested are paid out as dividend to ... |
