| MEET DERRICK SCHRADER Derrick John Schrader has been part of the dance industry for over 18 years. His ability to fuse all genres of dance along with storytelling has made him one of the most sought after choreographers in the industry. At age 7, Derrick knew he wanted to be a dancer after seeing his cousinís dance recital. There was a boy performing the notorious coffee grinders during a rendition of ì Grease Lightening ìÖseeing the reaction of the crowd, Derrick knew this is what he wanted to do. Derrick began training in Minnesota, dancing and performing for studios and companies throughout the state. OOAL Ballet Company, Burning the Floor, Set You Free, and Tappiní In the Twin Cities ( directed by Savion Glover and Gregory Hines ) are a few on the list. Now residing in Los Angeles, Derrick is signed to one of the top dance and choreography agents in the world. He has performed for numerous music videos, television shows, films, dance companies, and movies. Currently he is busy traveling with Tremaine Dance Conventions and loving every moment of it. When not on the road, heís busy teaching and choreographing for studios around the world. Derrick is also teaching at the new dance facility IDA of Hollywood, home of Americaís Next Best Dance Crew and American Idol. He is focused on building a dancers career by developing personal strengths and embracing weaknesses.
