Blue Trees University of Plymouth March 2012 Con Temporary Art I must admit that I have never been able to get in to a lot of the modern art and intellect behind it. Neither have a lot of people that pretend to like it. I have run circles around them on more than one occasions when they tell me its all in the intellect or mind rather than the actual object that is called art.. It has been said this week that the bubble may have burst on such views on art. Or Emperors new clothes which I have called some of it for years. Intellects in art are beginning to come to the same conclusion. I think it takes a lot more talent to be a Micheal Angelo than a Damen Hurst. Or Tracy Irmin. But if you can make a million pounds by putting up fences or tents in a gallery . Then may be I should jump on the bandwagon of contemporary art. Its not just galleries and artists making a lot of money at it but colleges and University also. I would like to see more talent going in to being creative in art there are some new up and coming artists in Plymouth that have real talent that needs to be held in the area. Lets stop collecting stones in the North Pole to make art Islands in the Atlantic just out side Cornwall and Devon. Lets have University getting back to teaching creativity rather than Emperors new clothes, Assembly line art, lets have longevity in art.
