My New Acreage 2010 7 of 7 November

In May 2010, my wife and I bought ten acres of land in Northern Alberta. It was covered with trees from end to end. This video is the final 2010 installment of the series I plan to create, that will show how this city boy, converts his lifestyle to an acreage, with a solar home and garden. My plan is to be as self sufficient as possible, and live off the grid as much as I can. Step one was cutting down the trees to form a driveway and clearing for the vehicles. I kept the logs from the trees for future use. Building a wood/garden shed to store firewood and the machines used on the acreage. I went out on Saturdays whenever time would allow and kept plugging away, slowly making a dent in the work to be done. I purchased a chainsaw, woodchipper, and log splitter. Step two is clearing an area for a garden in time for next spring. I already have a rotor tiller that I am using on a small garden behind my house in town. Step three is building a garage with a shop and a loft above to live in while I build the passive solar house.
