| I'm going to be uploading a row of traditional style art vids in the next couple of weeks. Oil, colored pencil, airbrush, etc. I begin with the hardest most unforgiving medium (at least for me). Acrylics. It dries so fast... But yet I still very much enjoy the challenge, as well as the gritty artistic outcome. I did this painting based loosely on the "Dragon Awakens" digital painting, since it was the most recent vid where a couple of people made the comment that a person could not freehand such art without the computer. It inspired me to attempt a similarly colored creature concept with the acrylics. It's funny--- 99% of viewers can say great things about the art, but I am guilty of focusing on that 1% that has something negative to say. But I think that the the one thing I am most guilty of is the fact that part of me ENJOYS IT. Sure, some people can get obnoxious about it at times, but it isn't as much about them, their opinion, or any lack of self confidence on my end. I think I enjoy the human philosophy side of it the most... I am fascinated by the patterns of various perceptions some people have. Equally fascinating is how they act it out on other folks. It says a lot about us as a race... But I truly think I learn a lot from it. Anyway-- here is my latest. I am feeling a bit burned out on dragons at this point... I think the next painting-- which will be oils on masonite-- shall be a T-rex or something. And also, I have been messing around with photorealism with ... |
