How To....Make a Bow String

This is a video for people who ever wondered how to make a string for their Recurve Bow. This will be one of a number of videos I plan to upload in an aim to supply video help to those wanting to know how to set up their Recurve Bow. This video is made up of the methods and techniques I have been taught, made up and experimented with and are proven to work. Please note this is not the be all and end all just a guide. Yes this video is a bit specific but then take a look at the rest of my videos. If you found this video informative please subscribe and comment. This video took 4hours to film and 5 days to edit with approx 30hours and many attempts to find the proper rendering setting to give the best quality that Youtube would accept. www.bowskin.com this is the method i use for the flemish twist. one end will have a plaited loop while the other end is secured to th bow nocks with a timber hitch. timber hitch can work well enough for the bow, but you can always do a plaited loop on both ends if you wish

Bowstring - Longbows and bows

Just a bit about bowstrings for longbows. I just discuss and show how you can customise them so they fit onto the nocks of the bow a bit better. You need to be capable of splicing an 'eye' into the bowstring and then wrapping it in thread for added strength.
