Afghans sceptical of Bonn conference

Leaders from more than 90 countries have met at a conference in Bonn, Germany to discuss the conflict in Afghanistan and a planned military pullout and transition to Afghan control by 2014. However, with both the Taliban and Pakistan, Afghanistan's influential neighbour, boycotting the conference, it remains unclear what the discussions will achieve. Al Jazeera's Jennifer Glasse reports from Kabul on how Afghans view the conference.

Liszt Ballade 2 Bonn Beethoven-Haus Lisitsa on 97 keys

Finally a chance to use all 97 keys, live , on video :-) In the original score , the decending broken octaves passage ( so-called martellato, around 8:00") is reduced in left hand to a single line at the bottom , when Liszt-times piano run out of keys to decsend. The effect of using the missing lower octave - particulalry in live setting - is simply stupendous. There is nothing that can match sound of roaring Imperial extra-low notes! It has to be heard live - or at least in analogue recording ( that I am going to make very soon , a "Liszt project " ) . This is the piano I am going to use :-) Bosy rules !!!!

Mozart Fantasy K475 C Minor Bonn Beethoven-Haus Lisitsa

No comments , really :-) It is one of the most sublime and disturbing pieces of all times. Beethoven borrowed a lot from it - just listen to the place just before the first theme comes back - and then to the same place in 1st movement of Appasionata , before the Coda. This was an opening piece in cocnert that took place in Beethoven Museum , Beethoven-Haus in Bonn , September 8th 2011. The piano , as you can see , Bosy Imperial - is a new piano I am going to record my Liszt later this year.

3rd Bonn Conference on International Development Policy

Franca and Nele from the Global Experience media team at Schillergymnasium Münster report from the 3rd Conference on International Development Policy that took place in Bonn from 30st - 31st january 2012. Within their interviews they ask politicians, scientiests and NGO & civil society representatives about their thoughts on how to implement the goals of sustainability in our society.
