Borromean rings

A short animation of Borromean rings, which are three interlocked, inseparable rings when taken as a whole - breaking and removing one will make the other two come apart as well. Borromean rings are therefore a symbol of unity. The rings are rendered with a ChromaDepth (TM) palette (using RenderMan), which makes them appear to pop out in 3D. Turaev genus is the minimum genus Turaev surface for all diagrams of the knot. We show that Turaev genus gives a natural bound for width of knot Floer homology. Borromean Ring Removal
