Gulf Oil Spill-Gutsy Solution Restores Environment in Just Six Weeks

www.SpillFighters.com - The Texas Land Office and Texas Water Commission successfully used 'oil eating' microbes to clean up large oil spills in just weeks. Microbes hunt down and eat the toxic oil and leave only a biodegradable waste that is non-toxic to humans and marine life. Marshland and beaches were pristine again in just weeks---not years like the Exxon Valdez spill. This is the answer to save the seafood industry and all the precious creatures we are about to kill.

License to Spill: Cheney, BP and The Gulf of Mexico

Environmental Attorney Mike Papantonio explains to MSNBC's "The Ed Show" how Bush-Cheney Deregulation directly led to the British Petroleum Oil Spill in the Gulf of Mexico, by allowing Big Oil to skip a simple and inexpensive safety measure that many other nations require. The BP spill was threatening the gulf from Louisiana to Florida at the time this video was uploaded. "License To Spill" was granted by his majesty, then-vice president Dick Cheney at his infamous closed-door meeting with oil company executives (otherwise known as "cheney's base"). Never forget, 11 Workers were killed in the explosion on the Deepwater Horizon Oil Rig that led to the spill. Remember that the next time you see someone driving a Hummer or an Escalade. Remember them as we pay up to $4/gallon for gasoline this summer, maybe more. FAIR USE NOTICE: This video may contain copyrighted material. Environmental Lawyers Weigh BP's Liability in Gulf

Fifty days into the Gulf oil spill, officials still don't have a firm answer on how much oil is escaping from the damaged well or how long it could continue. Jim Lehrer talks to environmental law professors Tracy Hester of the University of Houston and Noah Hall, of Wayne State University, about the legal ramifications of the spill for BP.

Riki Ott on the environment: "We are running out of time." 1/3

Rose Aguilar spoke with Riki Ott on the sixth-month anniversary of the BP oil disaster -- one of the largest environmental disasters in US history. In 1989, Riki Ott, a marine toxicologist who lives in Cordova, Alaska, experienced firsthand the devastating effects of the Exxon Valdex oil disaster. She's spent five of the past six months traveling back and forth between Louisiana and Florida to gather information about what's really happening in the Gulf and share the lessons she learned about long-term illnesses and deaths of clean-up workers and residents. She's planning to return in January. Experts: Health Hazards in Gulf Warrant Evacuations by Rose Aguilar - Truthout is.gd

Wildlife Apocalypse: Video of Gulf birds, fish caught in BP oil spill

Wildlife apocalypse along the Gulf of Mexico coast is fast becoming a reality. Pelicans are becoming trapped by the oil and dead birds and dolphins have been washing ashore, coated in the sludge. Oil Spill: What's at Stake for the Environment?

May 1st 2010 NBCs Mark Potter reports on the environmental impact the oil spill will have in the Gulf Coast. Oil slick emergency spreads to Florida Sat May 1 2010- itn.co.uk A state of emergency has been declared in Florida's coastal counties because of the threat from the oil spill in the Gulf of Mexico. The spill that threatens to become America's worst environmental disaster in decades, spread out of control and started washing ashore along the Gulf Coast on Thursday night. The oil slick is threatening hundreds of species of fish, birds and other wildlife along the Gulf Coast, one of the world's richest seafood grounds, teeming with shrimp, oysters and other marine life. Louisiana declared a state of emergency on Thursday before the spill reached land. There are also fears the crisis will deepen in the region after the US Coast Guard reported that an inshore oil rig overturned near Morgan City, Louisiana. Meanwhile, President Barack Obama said that domestic oil drilling remains an important part of US energy policy, but must be done responsibly. He said any future offshore tracts leased to companies to search for oil would be subject to better safety measures to prevent and control spills. Louisiana oil spill may be five times bigger than previously thought- www.telegraph.co.uk
