| There are certain focal points in the city where its citizens gather recreationally in large almost all day everyday of the year in a city that never rests or sleeps. The sea of sprawling malls, each one bigger, brighter and louder than the last, vie with each other to grab at the wandering, lazy attentions of shoppers or curious passersby dazzled by so many bright lights in one city, and so like moths they flutter from one giant glittering plaza to the next, more often than not the mall in question boasts the same neon signs, the same brand names and the same window displays of the last one. Only a few stand out, Siam Paragon, the daddy of the Bangkok shopping experience is one of those, its relentless and cash fuelled efforts to hold onto the shoppers gaze works well, as does its location: it clings tightly to the BTSs busiest station, Siam, and it literally provides the squashed masses on this efficient urban metro with an advertorial as the immaculate trains swish into this station, which also happens to be the only intersection between the two city-slicing BTS routes. Pull into the station at anytime of the day or night and Siam Paragon is a swirl of lights, sounds, emotions, prestigious brand names and relentless activity. Next up is MBK, three letters that are synonymous with this particular mall. In fact after BKK and BTS, MBK is probably the most famous three letter designation bandied about in the city.
