Explained: AS350 Eurocopter Helicopter Self-Destructs

Some observers speculate that a bad episode of ground resonance may be to blame for the violent self-destruction of med-evac helicopter as it landed in a field in Para, Brazil. Few details are available about the incident, which reportedly took place Wednesday -- the same day video of the accident began spreading, online. The helicopter appears to be a Eurocopter A-Star AS350BA. Some reports state that there were four aboard -- two pilots, a doctor, and a nurse -- and all escaped serious injury in spite of the helicopter engaging full-flail mode. Several accounts repeat that the aircraft suffered excessive vibration while airborne and that vibration developed into destructive ground resonance after the aircraft landed. Firstly, I know the last few explosions aren't auto-destructs, but I like the way they look. This is a video of most of the self-destruct and auto-destructs on Star Trek. I like how Captain Janeway can order a self-destruct by herself, but when the male Captains call for a destruct sequence, the computer asks for 'additional authorisation'.

We all remember how Inspector Gadget would get an exploding message from his boss Chief Quimby at the beginning of most episodes, right? Well, in the first season in order to save money on animation, they often recycled the same clip of Gadget reading the message, beginning with "The Pharaoh." Programmable lock that self destructs after three incorrect tries.

This is revision 3 of my programmable lock. I integrated a counter system that removes a section of wire required to open the door using water if the incorrect code is submitted three times. The incorrect attempts are reset every time the correct password is entered. On my server there are no build/destroy permissions for guests, so this is meant to keep guests out. Obviously anyone with a shovel can burst right through in about 3 seconds.
