| Faux Marble You will start with a lighter glaze color of 3/4 glaze to 1/4 paint...covering the entire surface so there is a background glaze that has some variety without veining. After that the process is exactly the same as pressing a sponge on the wall in organic lines/shapes with a glaze mix of 1/2 glaze to 1/2 paint or tint. (makes a deeper/darker glaze mix) Instead of a sponge dabbing on the wall though, you would use a chip brush held perpendicular to the surface and dab exactly how you see the veining on the video...strait up & down & in randomized 45 degree angles to replicate how veining would look. Then just copy my look on the video (or a picture of marble patterns) in regards to the movement of veins/striations. It might help to think that this originally was hot lava flowing & moving/mixing with other minerals getting different colors/shapes.combinations, etc. then slowly drying into marble, etc. Best, Rik |
