Fedora 15 Review - Linux Distro Reviews

An in-depth look at Fedora 15 Lovelock, sporting the new stable GNOME 3 desktop and GNOME Shell. Fedora is a well supported distribution, and the fusion of GNOME Shell and Fedora's base creates an innovative, modern and polished desktop for the Linux enthusiast and power user. Definitely a great peek into the future of desktop Linux and it's a substantially widget base than GNOME and GTK 2.x. Very polished, and arguably much better (think finished) than Unity.

Fedora-ARM on the Raspberry Pi (Seneca CDOT)

The Raspberry Pi is a $25/$35 computer based on a Broadcom ARM chip. The Fedora ARM secondary architecture project has ported the Fedora Linux distribution to ARM-based devices. Faculty and students at Seneca College involved with the Fedora ARM project are configuring and optimizing it to work with the Raspberry Pi. This is a quick peek at Fedora 13 running on an alpha Raspberry Pi board (model "B"). The GUI is LXDE; apps shown include AbiWord and gEdit (with plugins). This is Fedora Core 5 running on the Playstation 3. And Ebay believes installing open source software on an open platform (as is stated on Sony's site) is a "copyright violation". Apparently they don't understand open source...so my auction of this unit was cancelled without notification. Thanks, Ebay...
