16 inch Aerial Firework Shells

www.youtube.com is the link to the higher res 480p copy of this video, check it out! These are 14 and 16 inch shells. The star patterns that resulted easily filled the field of view of my camera. The music is recognized from the movie "2001: A Space Odyssey" but the track is actually an old classical piece called "Also sprach Zarathustra" and was composed by Richard Strauss in 1896. It was used perfectly with this firework sequence!

Fake Canister Firework Shells (Winda - Salute Over America shell kit)

I bought the Salute Over America shell kit for $40 and noticed the shells were very light weight. When I opened them up I found out they were not true canister shells, they were ball shells disguised to look like canister shells. These shells are over priced and only a little better than black box artillery shells. I do not recommend buying them. I lit the rest of these off on the 4th and they do have some very nice effects but they still are overpriced and the shells are not labeled. I would only buy these again if I found them under $30.

Amazing firework shells from the 1991 PGI convention

Footage I took at the 1991 Pyrotechnics Guild International convention in Lacrosse, WI. The first 6 shells were from competition from various nights and the remaining footage is excerpts from the public display on Friday night by Northern Lighter Pyrotechnics, Inc. Most are large Italian style multi-break cylindrical shells which were all made in the USA. This was my first time filming fireworks with a camcorder.

Making Fireworks Shells.Part 1 of 5

At a recent fireworks shoot I attended a class of fireworks shell building. For $25.00 I was able to build a traditional cylinder shell called a break and report. Before you attempt to build your own fireworks you should receive instructions from a trained pyrotechnician or better yet attend one of these classes conducted by fireworks experts.
