Kooky - English ver. Trailer

Since its release in the Czech Republic we have been inundated with requests for an English version of,KOOKY, so here it is! Our very own "home-made" English dubbed version. It's the very first time one of my films has been dubbed into English. My preference as a film-maker has always been for subtitles, but KOOKY is too packed with visuals for these to work. I supervised the dub myself working with some of the actors from the Czech version of the film. But this time they speak in English -- or do their best to. I decided to use Czech actors, with their heavy Central European accents, to retain the film's authenticity and its connection with the fantasy world we created in the Bohemian forests. This "original home-made English version" will be available for worldwide acquisition at the forthcoming Berlin Film Festival Market. When asthmatic, six-year-old ONDRA is forced to throw away his scruffy, sawdust-stuffed old teddy bear, KOOKY, he prays for the safe return of his furry friend. Soon afterwards, across town, Kooky is about to be crushed in a rubbish dump when he suddenly comes to life, making his escape into a mysterious forest. The naïve, cuddly Kooky needs help to survive amongst the rough-and-ready creatures of the forest and he finds it when he meets the crotchety forest guardian HERGOT. Hergot is in charge of watching over the forest, but he has his enemies too the malevolent NIGHTSHADE plans to take over the forest, by proving that the short-sighted but good-hearted Hergot is not up to the job of guardian.

Sarah Palin Wasilla Church Has Kooky Prophecy Sessions

Sarah Palin's odd religious sect should NOT be a test of public office as she runs for Vice President, but given that John McCain and Sarah Palin have already made Palin's religion a campaign issue, it's a valid topic for public consideration (not as an electoral factor). The Wasilla Assemblies of God is holding, in one week, what it calls a Masters Commission in which prophecies for God and Alaska and the United States will be discussed. It seems that the church's leaders claim that God is "invading" Alaska and say that Wasilla is the key to God's plans for the entire world. It's hard to conclude that they are not talking about Sarah Palin's vice presidential campaign.

Halloween Cake Pops: Kooky Candy Corn

The first minute or so is the same as the mummy cake pop video, I made them all on the same day and didn't want to put them all on the same video (too long). Found this idea on the front of a magazine at the checkout line at the grocery store! A couple of the larger ones I made broke off when dipping, so make sure you make them smallish. Smaller candy corn would have allowed me more control and I think the lines would have been straighter and smoother. More welting wafer in a deeper bowl would have helped as well. Is your candy coating too thick? Add a bit of vegetable shortening to thin it.
