Life in Erbil, Kurdistan

Kurdistan is a semi-autonomous region with in the Republic of Iraq. The capital city of Kurdistan is Erbil. The stable security situation in kurdistan had acted as catalyst to the regions economic prosperity. Growth in the region is expected to be over 9% this year. It is the fastest growing region in Kurdistan . With the influx of shopping malls, restaurants, hotels and amusement parks in the region the growth will continue. Plans are underway to elect Erbil as Capital of Tourism for the Arab World in 2014 and 2015. The last three years has seen 20 billion USD invested in the region.

Kurdistan "Land of the Kurds" also formerly spelled Curdistan; ancient name: Corduene is a roughly defined geo-cultural region wherein the Kurds form a prominent majority population, and Kurdish culture, language, and national identity have historically been based. Contemporary use of Kurdistan refers to parts of eastern Turkey (Turkish Kurdistan), northern Iraq (Iraqi Kurdistan), northwestern Iran (Iranian Kurdistan) and northern Syria inhabited mainly by Kurds. Kurdistan roughly encompasses the northwestern Zagros and the eastern Taurus mountain ranges,and covers small portions of Armenia. Map of iranian people. Iraqi Kurdistan first gained autonomous status in 1970 agreement with the Iraqi government and its status was re-confirmed as an autonomous entity within the federal Iraqi republic in 2005.There is also a province by the name Kurdistan in Iran, although it does not enjoy self-rule. Some Kurdish nationalist organizations seek to create an independent nation state of Kurdistan, consisting of some or all of the areas with Kurdish majority, while others campaign for greater Kurdish autonomy within the existing national boundaries.

Iraq warns Kurdistan Region over oil export deal with Turkey.

The Kurdistan Region minister of natural resources Asthi Hawrami has said Kurdistan will build a pipeline over the next twelve months to carry one million barrels of oil per day to Turkey. The move has angered the central Baghdad government, which says Kurdistan must seek permission for such a deal. The new oil dispute between Iraq and the Kurdistan Region follows a major energy conference in Arbil on Sunday. Baghdad dismisses such contracts as illegal, while the Kurds said the constitution allows them to sign any agreement concerning their natural resources. The Kurdistan government said it will take seventeen percent of oil export revenues and pass the rest to the federal government. Kurdistan currently gets seventeen percent of Iraq's national budget. But the matter seems to be more than just an argument between Baghdad and Arbil. The Kurdistan parliament's committee of natural resources said it has been left in the dark. Hussain Shahristani, Iraq's deputy prime minister for energy affairs, has announced that the supply of oil to Kurdistan will be cut after one month if ongoing oil disputes between Kurdistan and Iraq are not resolved. Iraqi President Jalal Talabani instructed Shahristani to make the demands. But the Kurds said there is no difference between Iraq's oil and Kurdistan's oil. 2012 Newroz in Kurdistan Amed (Diyarbakir)

(Only) in Amed (Diyarbakir) Kurdistan celebrated about 1 million Kurds. And all the Kurdish people around the world. Today is Newroz the oldest cultural feast in the world that is celebrated. The history of Newroz goes back to round about 3000 BC. The legend of Kawa. Kawa lived for 2500 years under the tyranny of Zahak, an Assyrian who is named Zuhak by the Kurds. Zuhak's evil reign caused spring to no longer come to Kurdistan.March 20 is traditionally marked as the day that Kawa defeated Dehak. He is then said to have set fire to the hillsides to celebrate the victory and summon his supporters; subsequently spring returned to Kurdistan the next day. All Aryan Iranic people worldwide celebrated Newroz. That is round about 200 million people. example just as: Kurds, Persians, Pashtuns ,Baluchis Gilakis, Mazanderanis,Talysh, Ossetians Parsis.
