| www.PaintScratch.com founder Collin Harris demonstrates how to use a touch up paint pen to repair scratches in the bumper paint of a 2010 Toyota Prius. Collin is using Silver Metallic Clearcoat with the color code 1F7 to precisely match the existing car paint. Here is the touch up paint pen process You want to practice with the touch up paint pen before using it on your auto paint. Get started by shaking the paint pen until it is well mixed -- for about a minute. Next, uncap the touch up paint pen and gently depress the tip on a surface like a yogurt container to get your car paint to start flowing. Get a feel for using the paint pen by practicing on the yogurt container. You'll notice it goes on kind of like a marker. Once you get a feel for using the paint pen, you are ready to touch up the paint scratches. On your damaged car paint, apply just a little bit of touch up paint at a time. You will be applying multiple coats, so only apply a little bit of the car paint at a time. Use just enough touch up paint to fill the paint scratch. Once you've finished painting your car, let it dry for a few minutes before applying the next coat. And remember to cap your touch up paint pen! The next step is applying clearcoat which we'll show you in another video.
