While in line at E3 waiting to play GOW3 Horde 2.0, they handed out a game card with the following information on it: YOU'RE ABOUT TO EXPERIENCE THE REVAMPED HORDE MODE. Core gameplay remains the same as in GEARS OF WAR 2, only now there's a lot more to know and love. Battle your way through a relentless onslaught of Locust waves. Your objective is simple: kill everything and Survive. During the short breaks between waves you will want to rearm, buy ammo, and fortify your position. Plan accordingly for the recurring boss waves to ensure that you can get through the tougher challenges. FORTIFICATIONS: fortifications are brand new to Horde 2.0, and probably the most significant improvement. Earn cash by killing enemies, and use that cash to purchase a variety of offensive, defensive, and decoy fortifications. All games begin with choosing an area of the map to make your base. Choose a location wisely so you can easily defend your location and build offensive and defensive fortifications around that position to help you out. To get started and choose a command center, simply walk up to a flashing green pole with a flag and activate it - done! Building a fortification is easy. Get close to a fortification's ghost image, and then press the Y button to buy it - that's it.
