cast iron skillet cleaning trick - how to

www.permies.com Sometimes you get some petrified crud on your cast iron skillet. An easy trick is to boil a bit of water and use your flat edged stainless steel spatula to gently remove the gick. Since a cast iron skillet is gonna have layers of seasoning on it, you wanna gently remove the crusty gick while leaving the seasoning layers behind. This is my griswold cast iron skillet. Probably around a hundred years old and still going strong. It has a good, glassy surface. Normally, when cooking with a cast iron skillet, the idea is to use techniques such that nothing sticks. The best way to get water out of a cast iron skillet is to use heat. Cold water in a hot cast iron skillet could cause it to crack. Vlaugust, Day 3 In this video, I give two pieces of advice for learning a foreign language. 1. When you're talking in a foreign language and can't come up with the word you want to say, describe the thing or action instead of trying to remember the specific word or instead of looking up the word in a dictionary. 2. Adverbs (and adjectives) are the most helpful type of vocabulary words to learn once you get past a certain level in your language-learning. This advice is mainly aimed at students at the late-beginner/pre-intermediate level, I guess. Before I realized these two things, I was too shy to use Japanese at all because I knew I wouldn't have enough words to say what I wanted to say, but now I don't feel so nervous to speak. :D I really hope it's helpful!!! I wish someone pointed this stuff out to me when I was still a beginner!
