| Original Air Date: December 30th, 2009 Part of the long running "Top Gear" brand published primarily by Kemco, I felt this game was honestly pretty mediocre. It's not terrible, it's not great, it's just mediocre. It's also one of those extremely rare games where the textures and the colors/patterns strike me in a way where I get migranes within the first ten minutes that progressively worsen, which doesn't happen to me in almost any game (it's a condition, though I'm not sure epilepsy is the right term in my case). I believe I get it playing Croc 2 and playing the N64 Mystical Ninja as well, though I can tolerate MN for much longer periods of time and feel dizzy right away when playing Croc 2. However, I won't "LP" (Playthrough) any of the aforementioned games for that very reason. This game tried to cut into the motocross racing market (adding an arcadey touch to the game as well) but didn't do so hot. Some people actually say that the game is rare, but I don't exactly know. So far, I haven't clicked with any Top Gear games that weren't released on the SNES. You start with very limited tracks and bikes, but you unlock more as you play (or can just use codes if you don't feel like playing). The game is expansion pak enhanced, which means you can turn the horribly grainy visuals into slightly less grainy visuals. Snowblind Studios tried, but this is not the best N64 Kemco effort. |
